It is yet to be announced officially by Paris Saint-Germain, but according to the French newspaper L’Equipe, the team has fired Laurent Blanc after some unconvincing results in the European competitions.
Blanc has quite an impressive record in the French competitions, as the managers has won two domestic trebles and more league title during the three years he has spent at PSG. However, he hasn’t been able to succeed in the UEFA Champions League, despite having a multimillion selection which has kept getting better and more expensive every next season.
Moreover, the club is set to pay Blanc 22 million euros in compensation, as the manager was still under contract during his sacking. It has been rumored that Unai Emery will be taking over the French champions, but whether or not that will actually happen is still uncertain at the moment.
