In a huge turn of events, FC Barcelona forward, Pedro Rodriguez has signed for Chelsea after a month long saga linking him to Manchester United.
Chelsea hijack Manchester United’s efforts to sign Pedro.
When Van Gaal was asked about signing Pedro a few days ago, the Dutchman replied: “You have to ask Pedro, not me,”
“My answer is that it’s a process between a club and a player, and we are there also. I don’t mention anything before he has signed. When he has signed I will come to you and say: ‘Hey, Pedro is here.’ That is not the case and we shall wait to see.”
Van Gaal’s ‘wait and see‘ approach went for a bit too long as Jose Mourinho snapped up the Spanish forward after having a setback of gaining just a point from Chelsea’s initial two games.
Chelsea just have 1 point in 2 games after drawing with Swansea and losing to Manchester City.
Reports suggest that United and Van Gaal may be done with the summer signings with David de Gea’s transfer negotiations the only piece of worry left for the Dutchman and club CEO Ed Woodward.
