Nicolas Otamendi joined Pedro Rodriguez in rejecting Manchester United and instead signing the blue half of Manchester while the Spaniard Pedro signed for Chelsea.
The 27-year-old joins Fabian Delph and Raheem Sterling as City’s new recruits of the summer. The Argentine was heavily linked to United for most of the summer but shockingly chose to join City instead. He will join fellow Argentines Pablo Zabaleta, Martin Demichelis and Sergio Aguero at The Etihad.
Otamendi gave his first interview as a City player in which he talks about what the fans can expect from him during the course of the season. Unsurprisingly, he also talked about his desire to win trophies.
Otamendi signed a 5-year-deal in a £23 million deal.
